Ed joined Phillips Financial in 2011, following thirty-seven years experience in the financial services industry with Swiss Re and Lincoln National Corporation. At Swiss Re, Ed was a Senior Vice President and Global Head of Mortality Products in the Global Life & Health Chief Pricing Office. Prior to Swiss Re’s acquisition of Lincoln National’s Reinsurance business in 2001, Ed was with Lincoln National for 27 years, serving in a variety of capacities. These included Chief Operations Officer for Group Reinsurance Markets; Vice President, Corporate Planning & Development; Vice President and Director of Product Management for Lincoln’s Individual Life product line; and President and CEO of Corporate Benefit Systems in Dallas, Texas. Ed is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Ed earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from DePauw University, and a Masters of Actuarial Science from the University of Michigan.
Ed currently serves on the Governance and Finance committees of Early Childhood Alliance, a non-profit organization supporting early childhood education in Northeast Indiana. He is also on the Board of the Bach Collegium, where he serves as the Treasurer. A long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Ed is active in a variety of roles, including the Finance Committee and the Lay Eucharistic Ministry.
Ed and his wife Anne have three children and five grandchildren. His free time interests include golfing, swimming, hiking, biking, traveling and reading.
